Conversations with Maddie

"Where did the first person come from?" Maddie pondered out of the blue.
"That's a very good question," I replied.
"It's very strange." I could see her puzzling through it.
"There are many theories about it."
While I paused to think about evolution, different religions and other theories and trying to figure out the best way to continue, considering what her own parents might prefer, and influence of other kids and their parents, she said, "Maybe Giants!"
"Ahhh, yes. The Giant Theory."

"Can someone wipe my bottom?!" Maddie said, shouting from the bathroom.
Edo walked in, "You know Maddie, this is something you're going to have to learn to do on your own."
"I can't reach my bottom."
It's funny how kid proportions are - their heads are ginormous compared to the rest of their bodies, and their limbs are really short. Very low ape-index.

During any given conversation, there's a 30% chance of Maddie saying "It doesn't mind". This doesn't actually ever make any sense in any context she uses it. For example, she'll put shoes on to go outside. "Maddie, you need to wear a coat, it's really cold outside." Her reply, "It doesn't mind."
